Fall festivals abound this weekend | Online Athens

I will likely be campaigning around the Fall Festival in Watkinsville as unobtrusively as possible this weekend. The Chamber usually pushes pretty hard to not have any campaigning on the actual Rocket Field area, and I will of course respect that. I am looking forward to seeing the Michael Guthrie Band perform in the afternoon. There is a corresponding yard sale at Ms. Rita Bennett's house at 15 School Street facing the left field corner of Rocket Field that has returned after a year's absence. It is not too late to drop off items on her porch but it pretty much needs to be done this Friday morning or afternoon on the Second Street side of the intersection. Please consider pricing items before hand if it all possible. Fall festivals abound this weekend | Online Athens

Historic homes workshop covers green issues | Online Athens

I would like to hear Watkinsville master craftsman Sandy Crow talk about historic windows. I am interested in obscure items like that. Too bad it is during the Fall Festival (and the deadline to register has passed.) We have a lot of beautiful homes in Watkinsville and we need to do everything we can to encourage preservation of the older homes and not let them fall into disrepair.
