Former Watkinsville Mayor Jim Luken was not the only person to come and speak before the Oconee County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday evening, August 5, 2015, but also merchants and other concerned residents of Oconee County, Georgia, wanted to let Sheriff Scott Berry know in no uncertain terms that they are opposed to his plans to enhance the security of the Oconee County Courthouse by closing the front door of the venerable facility.

A person of interest is a young white female, with long brown hair in a ponytail, 5' 04", 100 lbs., driving a burgundy pick-up truck with white lettering. Please call 911 Watkinsville Police if seen

Security plan draws negative response - Oconee Enterprise: News

Surely we can work together to improve the security without strangling downtown Watkinsville. I would think an injunction based on the ADA might be the next step for any enterprising individuals who could afford to hire an attorney or file a lawsuit. Oconee County sheriff to close front door of courthouse

I am uploading several long video segments to YouTube of the folks at the Oconee County Board of Commissioners meeting, including Mr. and Mrs. Stewart of Attic Treasures, former Mayor Luken, Councilman Brian Brodrick, and of course Sheriff Scott Berry. I think I have three clips coming close to a half an hour in total. Oconee County sheriff to close front door of courthouse
