Watkinville losing Plum Creek business

Nichols Land Development Co. has snared two anchor tenants for a spec building outside Athens, which means the building will open later this year at least 55% leased.

Athens-based law firm Fortson, Bentley & Griffin has leased a full floor (23,000 square feet) in the three-story, 70,000-square-foot Building 200 in the University Parkway & Technology Park in Oconee County. The firm is moving from downtown Athens.

Joining Fortson, Bentley at the building is Plum Creek, one of the country’s largest timberland owners. Plum Creek has leased 16,759 square feet in the building for its regional office, which will be moving from downtown Watkinsville
