Final Farmers Market during the Oconee County Fall Festival

Hi Everyone!
We will be part of the Fall Festival this Saturday at our usual spot in front of the Eagle Tavern. This week we are jam packed with fresh, locally grown produce, including shiitake mushrooms. We will have THE most wonderful variety of homemade pies, cookies, brownies, cakes and breads! We also will feature sales and demonstrations of making handmade brooms!
The Clarke-Oconee Cattlemen's Association will be selling their famous smoked brisket and slicing some up for sandwiches, so be sure and stop by and see us!

This will be our final market of this season, but we will return next spring. Thank you to all the vendors and patrons who have helped make the Farmer's Market a huge success!

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
