Tony is cycling from Athens to Savannah

Dr. Glenn is a friend and an inspiration for his perspiration and drive (by pedaling!)

I would urge everyone to donate what they can afford for this amazing endeavor. Trip of a lifetime indeed!

As many of you know, I will be cycling from Athens to Savannah on May 1st and 2nd.  212 miles in two days......all by bicycle!

This trip serves two functions.  Personally, it is one of those "life" trips.....the kind of thing you do as a mental and physical challenge.  But most importantly, I'm doing this as part of a fundraiser for Clarke Middle School in Athens.

See the attachment for more details on this fundraiser, including how donations have aided a wide array of programs at CMS.

I'm asking my friends to "join" me on this journey, but you get the benefit of sitting at your desk or at home in your comfy chair.  I've included a picture below of the torture device I'll spend 212 miles sitting on.  ;-)

I'm asking for sponsors, with the donations going to CMS.  I'm proposing that you make a donation for every mile that I ride.  For example, if you sponsor me at $0.10 per mile, then you will make a donation of $20.00 (based on 200 miles to keep it easy).

Here are some quick options I've outlined for you to consider:
$0.05 per mile = $10
$0.10 per mile = $20
$0.25 per mile = $50
$0.50 per mile = $100
You get the idea.

Your tax-deductible donations can be mailed to:

Dr. Ken Sherman, Principal

Clarke Middle School

1235 Baxter Street

Athens, Georgia 30606.

Make your checks payable to Clarke Middle School and indicate "Savannah Bike Ride; rider Tony Glenn" in the memo section.

For those that I often see, I'll come to you to pick up your donation.  Just let me know.

I'd love to have the pockets of my cycling jersey stuffed with donations from all my friends come May 1st when we depart from CMS!

Many thanks to all,
Tony Glenn

"It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a

country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and

coast down them. Thus you remember them as they

actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill

impresses you, and you have no such accurate

remembrance of country you have driven through

as you gain by riding a bicycle."
