This week there will be homemade cakes. Amy Shane will have a wide variety of pie selections, some old, some new, including chocolate, fresh peach, fresh cherry and apple-pecan muffins.
We will have fresh locally grown herbs, eggplant, cucumbers,  fresh corn, okra, peaches, melons, potatoes, purple hull peas, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, various sweet and hot peppers, figs, sprouts, basil and green onions.
Fresh made jams and jellies.
Don't forget about our farm fresh eggs and Johnson Dairy Milk and Greek Yogurt.
We will have ornamental plants, transplant-able vegetables, blooming perennials and annuals, potted flowers and fresh cut flowers.
Head of the Meadow Farms will be selling grass fed beef.


So come on out and pick up some locally grown, fresh goodness.

Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. This man is a great broadcaster and I hope this arrest serves as a wake-up call for him and his rock and roll lifestyle. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
