Below is the logistics of all the stops for this Saturday's District 10 Democratic Whistle Stop Rally in case you want to make it a full Democratic day--from Eatonton to Clarksville.

    We have finally nailed down the times and places for this all-day
    caravan for the candidates. Please get the word out to your Democrats
    about the schedule below. Contact Patsy Harris for more info: 706

    WHO – Seven of the Democratic County Parties of District 10 along Hwy
    441, Russell Edwards, J.B. Powell, Darryl Hicks, other Statewide
    Democratic candidates, Democratic candidates involved in elections in
    those counties, and lots of Democratic voters.
     
    WHAT – A lively Caravan of Democrats and Candidates traveling up Hwy
    441 and making rally stops in each county.
     
    WHEN – October 30, Saturday. Beginning at 8AM in Putnam County and
    ending at 6:30PM in Habersham County.
     
    WHERE – Following Hwy 441 South to North, with rally stops in:
    1. Eatonton in Putnam
    2. Madison in Morgan
    3. Watkinsville in Oconee
    4. Athens in Clarke
    5. Commerce in Jackson
    6. Homer in Banks
    7. Clarksville in Habersham
     
    WHY – To bring the Get Out to Vote message to that county's Democrats,
    invigorate our base voters, and inspire everyone – and elect our
    Democratic candidates!
     
    County parties, please provide these for your one rally:
    1. The crowds
    2. MC for rally
    3. Your local and state house Democratic candidates.
    4. Simple meals at Eatonton and Athens stops - to be paid for
    individually.
    5. Partnership with your neighboring District 10 county parties for
    your rally.
     
    SCHEDULE
    Use http://maps.google.com for location searches. (The actual
    addresses are sometimes way off in Google Maps, so I have given you
    searches that get you within one or two hundred feet of the rally
    site.)
     
    8:00 – 9:00 Eatonton, Putnam. The Big Chick in Eatonton. Buffet, and
    each person will pay for their own at $5 or $6. The parking lot is
    well situated for speeches in front on the porch, or inside. Fred

    9:45 – 10:30 Madison, Morgan: Whistle Stop rally at Courthouse steps.

    is one black away.
     
    11:00 – 11:45 Watkinsville, Oconee County Courthouse steps. Jonathan
    Veit
    Google Maps search: "21 N. Main St., Watkinsville, GA" This puts you
    right in front of the courthouse.
     
    12:15 – 1:30 Athens, Clarke: Lunch rally at the UGA Arch on Broad St
    where it intersects College Ave., across Broad from Starbucks.
    Football game is in Jacksonville FL that day and school is out. Nancy
    Thompson is working with Mehul of Russell's campaign.

    2:15 – 3:00 Commerce, Jackson: Whistle Stop rally at Gail Cox' front
    yard, downtown Commerce. There is a sweet little park between Gail's
    stately home and the main street in Commerce (Elm St. / Broad St.).
    Gail is working with April of Russell's campaign.

    3:45 – 4:30 Homer, Banks: Whistle Stop rally at the Old Courthouse,
    106 Yonah Homer Rd. Donna Brown working with April of Russell's
    campaign.
    Google Maps search: "Chamber of Commerce, Homer, GA". This is the old
    county courthouse.
     
    5:15 – 6:30 Clarksville, Habersham. Whistle Stop rally at the Gazebo
    downtown. George Birchby working with April.
    Google Maps search: "1456 Washington St., Clarksville, GA". The gazebo
    is right across the street.
     
    Each county party will be in charge only of their own county. Caravan
    riders can and drop in and drop off at any point. At each rally the
    candidates will speak, Russell Edwards being last to really get things
    going. He will also pass out phone bank sheets to participants who
    would like to make a few local canvassing calls immediately after
    rally at the site.
