Subject: Are You Sure You Know Your Legislative District?

Why Your Vote Matters
Advancing LGBT Equality in Georgia requires us to elect officials at all levels that are supportive of passing legislation that will protect us and our families from discrimination.

More than 80% of Georgia's legislative seats will be decided in the summer primaries on July 31st, NOT during the November general election.

In most primary races, less than 25% of registered voters cast a vote. Most races are decided by a few thousand people who vote and most candidates win their races by just a few hundred votes.
Given the importance of this year's primary and general elections and the restrictions that are placed on voters here in Georgia, we have produced a Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Voter Guide in partnership with Lambda Legal to help individuals feel comfortable exercising their right to vote.

Do You Know Who Represents You?
This year, the district boundaries for all state legislative seats have changed, some of them very dramatically. Even active voters are now confused about what district they live in and who is running to represent them.

Visit the Secretary of State's website to double-check your voter registration status and district.

Know the Candidates
In addition to all state legislative offices there will be many candidates for judge on the July primary ballot. These are important positions that can have an impact on the lives of LGBT Georgians. These races will all be decided in July.

You can find out more about the candidates on the Secretary of State's website. Candidates that have been endorsed by Georgia Equality - both legislative and judicial candidates - will be listed on our website.
