Oconee County Equestrian facility plays host to UGA upset of 3rd ranked Auburn

UGA equestrian upsets No. 3 Auburn
For the first time since the 2011-12 season, the Georgia equestrian team defeated Auburn in regular season competition. The No. 7 Bulldogs posted an 11-8 victory Saturday over the No. 3 Tigers at the UGA Equestrian Complex in Oconee County.
With the victory, Georgia (8-3, 4-2 in the Southeastern Conference) can be seeded no less than a tie for first place in the SEC Championships.
The Bulldogs were led by Liza Finsness (equitation on the flat), Rachel Kolb (horsemanship) and McKenzie Lantz (reining), all of whom earned MOP honors.
Finsess defeated Auburn’s Chirstina Linn 87-85 in equitation on the flat, Kolb bested Lacy Watson 75.5-74 in horsemanship and Lenz garnered a 71-70 decision in reining.
Georgia will host New Mexico State on March 7, the Bulldogs’ last home meet of the season.
