Red Oak Southern String Band, Oconee County Farmers Market launch 11th season in downtown Watkinsville
The Oconee County Farmers Market will open its 11th season from 8 a.m. to 1
p.m. Saturday in front of the courthouse in downtown Watkinsville. Vendors and shoppers walk from local areas and drive in from neighboring counties for this successful seasonal outdoor market.
About 30 vendors selling meats, eggs, honey, jellies, boiled peanuts, herbs and landscape plants are expected, according to Market Manager Cindy Pritchard.
Music will be provided by The Red Oak Southern String Band, a Watkinsville group specializing in Americana, bluegrass and folk.
A Tuesday market is scheduled to open on May 13 from 4-7 p.m. in the parking lot of Watkinsville First Christian Church at the corner of Simonton Bridge Road and Main Street.
