May is here already? Time seems to be flying by...

Egg Mobile Revamp!


     This past week we were able to put the final touches on the the Egg Mobile for the 95 chickens plus one very lucky (or perhaps unlucky) rooster named Sterling. (No relation to Clippers owner Donald Sterling). Once these chickens get comfortable in the Egg Mobile, we will begin to train them to go into the Egg Mobile and night for safety and roam free in the day time feasting on whatever little bugs they may find...

     These chickens should begin laying eggs soon which means WAY more eggs for you!

The Markets..

  • Athens Farmer's Market - We will be at Bishop Park from 8am to 12pm. We will have our Piedmontese grass-fed beef and fresh eggs for sale along with Smoked Beef Bone Doggie Treats! 
  • Oconee Farmer's Market -  We'll be Downtown Watkinsville by the Court House from 8am to 1pm. We will be selling our Piedmontese grass-fed beef and fresh eggs! We will also be selling our Certified Naturally Grown produce to include fresh greens and perhaps even some beets!
  • Downtown Athen's Farmer's Market - On Wednesday, we will be Downtown Athens by City Hall from 4pm to 7pm! This is your chance to get fresh, free-range eggs if we ran out on Saturday!
This Sunday the Farm Stand will be CLOSED due to Will's Mom's birthday! We plan to reopen next Sunday!

Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. I work for a lawyer who could help him out if he does not having someone already representing him. This man is a great broadcaster and I hope this arrest serves as a wake-up call for him and his rock and roll lifestyle. I live a far from perfect life myself but long ago and far away I learned how and when not to drink. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

The booking photo is not to be placed on any web page that charges a fee for booking photo removal. Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
