The Pastures of Rose Creek

Here's the latest info from the farm!

Fields of Promise

No no, this isn't a sequel to that 1989 movie staring Kevin Costner. (Though seeing his kids grown up and build a hockey rink in the center of a wheat field in the hopes of drawing one of the "Original Six" hockey teams would be odd yet interesting...)

Similarly, this is comprised of "dreams" and farming, yet there are no ghostly sports teams involved. Fields of Promise is a fundraising dinner put on by local farmers and vendors to help create scholarships benefiting Oconee Agriculture students. William and I actually took agriculture classes at Oconee County High School. William went on to get an Ag degree from the University of Georgia!

Anyhow, back to the dinner... The dinner will feature live music and all meals will be prepared by local chefs using local food! Additionally, there will be auction and video presentation featuring the Oconee Farmer's Market vendors!

According to NC State, only around 15% of farmers today have a college degree. So think of this dinner as an investment... By helping support this fundraiser, you are helping to educate a local, young mind. Hopefully he or she will return to the area to farm, providing healthy, fresh food for your family and community for the years ahead!
