Farm News
We had a wonderful visit this week from students at the UGA School of Environment and Design. They came to the farm to learn more about sustainable agriculture and our farming practices. Will showed them them how he divides up our pastures for rotational grazing, how we use chickens in egg mobiles to help clean up after the cattle, and our preservation efforts to date.
We have decided to make one more cow available for quarter, half, or whole purchases. To get an idea of the quantity of meat you get with your purchase: One 1,000 lb cow will yield the following cuts: Filet Mignon/NY Strip 7-10 packs (2 steaks per pack); Ribeye (8-12 steaks); Sirloin (10-15 steaks); Round (8-12 steaks); Cube (10-15-steaks); Flank (2 steaks); Skirt (2 steaks). Chuck Roast (8-10 roasts); Shoulder (4-6); Rump (8-10); Sirloin Tip (4-6). Brisket (8-10lbs); Short Ribs (10-20lbs); Stew meat (10-20lbs); Liver (5-10lbs); Ground Beef (approximately 120lbs). - Athens Farmers Market - Come see us at Bishop Park from 8am to 12pm. We will have our wonderful Piedmontese grass-fed beef fresh, free-range eggs, and dog treats for sale!
- Oconee Farmers Market - Find us in Downtown Watkinsville by the Court House from 8am to 1pm. Our Piedmontese grass-fed beef, free-range eggs, and dog treats will be for sale!
- Wednesday Athens Farmers Market - We'll be at the parking lot next to Creature Comforts Brewing Company, 271 W Hancock Avenue, from 4pm - 7pm! We'll have eggs and grass-fed beef!
- Sunday Farm Stand - Come visit us here at the farm between 2pm and 4pm this Sunday. This week's Gold Club Deal is 10% off our roast selection!
