Oconee Farmer's Market to open for 12th season

The Oconee Farmers Market will launch its 12th season Saturday in
front of the Oconee County Courthouse on Main Street in Watkinsville.

Last year’s market opening had 29 vendors, selling eggs, honey, goat
milk, pies, meats, boiled peanuts, herbs, landscape plants and greens.
The market runs 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“It is a great time to get reconnected to the community,” said vendor
Annie Kennedy of Covenant Valley Farm near Colbert. “After this long
dreary winter, it will be refreshing to see the smiles of our loyal
customers and some new ones from our new customers.”

Red Oak Southern String Band, a Watkinsville bluegrass group, will
perform at the opening. The market will run for 35 Saturdays, ending on
Nov. 28.
