Class: Ceramic Bead Making I & II with Glenn
Josey: Classes begin Tuesday at the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation, 34
School St., Watkinsville. Led by Instructor Glenn Josey. Learn basic
techniques for making and glazing simple shaped clay beads. In Ceramic
Bead Making II students will expand their skills to include more complex
beads and pendants. In each class, students that produce a sufficient
number of beads will also be able to construct a piece of jewelry. No

Class: “So You Want to be a Columnist”: Classes
start Tuesday. Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation, 34 School St.,
Watkinsville. Led by Dr. Wally Eberhard. The course will teach the
basics of writing columns, editorials, “op-ed” pieces, and blogs. It
will also cover what editors expect and how to establish yourself as a

Class: Versatile Drawing Methods: Classes start
Wednesday at Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation, 34 School St.,
Watkinsville. A six-week drawing course with instructor Cameron Hampton.
The class is suitable for all skill levels. Basic and advanced drawing
skills will be covered as well as traditional and non-traditional

Chess Club: 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oconee County
Library, 1080 Experiment Station Road, Watkinsville. All experience

Night of Awesome: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oconee County
Library, 1080 Experiment Station Road, Watkinsville. Hang out with
people and watch an awesome movie, eat awesome snacks, and make an

TOPS weight loss: 7 p.m. Thursday, Government Annex
Building, Hwy. 15, Watkinsville. Meetings are held each Thursday. TOPS
(Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a nonprofit support group for weight loss.
Members can share challenges, successes, or goals, hear a brief program

Broad Minds Book Club: Noon to 2 p.m. Thursday,

September title is the dystopian, speculative fiction novel, “ The
Handmaid’s Tale,”  by Margaret Atwood and celebrates Banned Books Week.

Auditorium Artist, Robin Fay, about her exhibit titled “Revisit,” a
retrospect including photography, painting, and mixed media spanning
