More Ga. GOP corruption on slate
Former state School Superintendent Linda Schrenko's federal corruption trial is set to begin March 6, a federal judge in Atlanta has decided.
In a recent order, U.S. District Judge Clarence Cooper set the trial date for Schrenko and her co-defendants, computer executive A. Stephan Botes and Peter Steyn, who served as chief financial officer of Botes' Computer Consulting Services Corp.
Schrenko is charged in connection with an alleged scheme to steal more than $600,000 in federal education money. Schrenko, Botes and Steyn all have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
