Wendell Dawson is no amateur

Recently some people posting on my blog have been keen on anonymously denegrating former Oconee County Board of Commissioners chairman Wendell Dawson. This is in an attempt at trying to whitewash the sleaze that Jim Ivey propagated when he decided to pocket money from the Oconee Veterans Fund. Former Chairman Dawson may not be the most beloved individual in Oconee County, but he sure has a lot more integrity than Jim Ivey. And for people to try and besmirched Dawson because he speaks his mind and opinion about one of the most corrupt people in (an attempt at) public service is cowardly and chicken-hearted to say the least.

Wendell is not really even a friend of mine. Aside from being hired twice in the Oconee County government during his tenure, I really have no connection with him what-so-ever. We have borrowed items from each other's blogs, but big deal, that is part and parcel of the blogosphere, people!

Anyone who runs for elected office deserves some respect, and Dawson definitely deserves that much. I want to know where current Oconee County Board of Commissioners' member Don Norris came up with the $29,000 to attempt to bury the Veterans Memorial embezzlement scandal under the rug.

I would like to know why the District Attorney has not indicted Ivey yet. I would like to know what Charlie Hoag (and his wonderful wife Robin) thinks of all this disgusting behavior on the behalf of the local Republican party.

I would like Tim Bryant to address this subject on his talk radio show on NewsTalk 1340 WGAU AM, but so far as close as he has come is to have Miss Vinnie Williams cancel 10 minitues before one of his Monday-Wednesday-Friday shows. Tim sounded sick as dog this morning when I went in the studio for the first time since I had a talk show there and I gave Program Director Matt Caesar copious amounts of grief for Tim's lack of courage on booking me or anyone else slightly critical of local Republican politicians. I am applying for every seat Jim Ivey resigned from, aside from the State Lottery Board, and this unto itself does not make me worthy of being on the radio to complain about sleazy behavior. However, being the loyal opposition party in Oconee County does give me that right. Call it hardball with Dan Matthews. Tim and I butted heads quite a lot in my year-plus on Bobbin Mill Road, but that should not automatically eliminate me from contention or inclusion on his show. Oh well, I wish Tim well and hope he gets better. It was good to go back to WGAU's studio with my head held high even if I had to talk about Chronicles of Narnia and King Kong instead of corruption of the Republican party in Oconee County.

So again you reply with the age-old tactic of name calling ("idiot"). I do not question who brought the check. Anyone who reads the newspaper knows that. I question from where the actual money came from. I appreciate and have read your comments about Mr. Ivey. I think though your obvious animosity toward Mr. Dawson is borne out of something I do not know or care to know, and is really none of my business. It is most difficult to deal with an anonymous poster such as yourself, but I respect your opinion and thank you for reading my blog. Heard some interesting information about Harry Gordon at a committee meeting I attended before coming to the BOC meeting tonight. Hope we can agree to disagree politely. Had another major trauma at GSC today (not that it excuses my rant or anything but death and accidents do tend to color the argument when they happen in front of your face). I hope you find it in your best interest to reveal yourself in good time and I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas.

Here is the answer to what you are wondering. I am C. Hoag. The current issues within and surrounding the Oconee political scene and the players involved are a direct result of the backdoor, jellyfish,no cahones politics that were set in motion against me years ago. I have never publically spoken out on those events so here goes. I put my name in the hat, jeopardized a 15 year career and my family because no one else would. As soon as the developers in the county saw me at Harris Shoals Park the poop went knee deep and cell phones went into overdrive. I was not, would not be and am not in their pockets and they knew this. They took action. They never once contacted me prior to having my name removed by the State Party. They handled a threat by sweeping it away. So those involved are now reaping the consequences of their actions. Not by any actions that I have taken, but by the fact that unethical people always reap what they sow in good time. How do feel? 1 down 3 to go. In time they to will be faced with issues stemming from their decision to take care of a personal agenda rather than Oconee County. As far as being swept away. My attendance at Bogart City Council meetings is no chance happening. See you there and thanks for remembering my 24 hours as a Politician.
