Merrit uncovers more sleaze in Vets' group new start as Miss Vinnie reveals Ivey won't resign as CFO

I am glad Miss Vinnie Williams of the Oconee Enterprise newspaper is finally discussing the matter with other media outlets, and ABH reporter Merritt Melancon does a fine job of covering this from a wide varriety of angles. This is another important step in the Veterans Fund regaining some degree of integrity and honesty.OnlineAthens.com | News | Vets' group seeks new start, but fund chief stands in way 02/12/06

I only meant it in the instance that she is now coming forward and really no one else had anything of substance to say very much prior to this. I applaud her opinion, honesty and action. I really don't think she was holding back as much as not wanting to upset whom or whatever. This is extrapolated from her cancellation on the NewsTalk 1340 WGAU show at the last second a couple of weeks ago. Contrary to what you may or may not believe, I actually think Miss Vinnie does a pretty fair job most of the time and I think she takes umbrage at a lot of criticism of the newspaper unnnecessarily. The newspaper business is pure hell, and she does a decent job of dealing with the continual hassles most of the time. She really only shoots herself in the foot when she writes about things she knows nothing about, but this is one instance where she was less than forthcoming in my opinion and could have been more. Maybe not. I do not talk with her as much as you evidently do. Perhaps I should make more of an effort to do so. I do not share Wendell Dawson's enmity toward her at all.
