Bob Smith wants to limit meeting times
Seems our esteemed Representative Bob Smith now wants to stop all government meetings at the stroke of midnight. May I remind Smith that sometimes it is necessary to continue meetings past an artificially set time. Gee, might this eliminate the 24 hour softball tournaments at Herman C. Michael and assorted other government facilities like the Civic Center? I would sure hate for some heated opposition organize to knock this out-of-touch legislator and legislation off its mighty perch. I wonder if Smith enjoys sniping at Athens-Clarke and other governments with legitimate activities after midnight. I have heard a lot of complaints about the way Bob Smith answers emails with the following form letter:
Thank you so much for contacting me about an issue of concern. My office receives hundreds of
emails. Please know that we review each and every note. However, it is not physically possible
to respond to each message personally. Do understand that I prioritize the emails as well.
With appreciation to my constituents, I will respond to you, if such is the case, as a higher
priority.
If you are sending an invitation to attend an event or meeting, please include in the subject
line my assistant’s name, Sumner Holman, so she can relay the invitation to me.
If your issue requires more specific information or assistance, please contact my legislative
office directly at 404-463-2247. Thank you again!
