Hall County Gathering

Greetings Fellow Democrats of North Georgia,

You are invited to join us for a region wide planning event. All county chairs are urged to attend and all Democrats are welcome!

When: Saturday, March 18, 10:00 AM to noon.

Where: Hall County Democratic Headquarters, 1097 Athens Highway, Gainesville, GA 30503

Purpose: Plan the who, when, and where of some multi-county mega events to showcase our statewide Democratic candidates this spring and summer.

Agenda:

Pete Thomas will talk about plans for the upcoming multi-county mega event in Blue Ridge on 4/8.

Pete will also talk about their "10 phone lines" operation.

Marci Watson will talk about the North Georgia Alliance newsletter linkage.

Bring your own lunch or we’ll call in or go out afterwards.

Directions: From I-985 take Exit 22 (State Hwy 129) and go west towards Gainesville. At the first traffic light (QT on your right), turn right onto West Ridge Rd. Take West Ridge until it dead-ends into Athens St. Turn right on Athens St. and you will see the Dem Hqtrs on the left, less than 1/4 mile. It is a bright blue metal building with a large "DEMOCRATS" sign out front.

Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. I work for a lawyer who could help him out if he does not having someone already representing him. This man is a great broadcaster and I hope this arrest serves as a wake-up call for him and his rock and roll lifestyle. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
