We have a candidate to run against Charlie Norwood
A well placed source sent me an email indicating that the Democratic party will have a viable candidate to run against Charlie Norwood. I can not reveal yet who it will be, but political junkies are dying to find out as soon as possible.
QUALIFYING IS THIS WEEK. Here are some qualiying tips from the recertified Democratic committee:

- Qualifying begins no earlier than 9:00 a.m. Monday April 24, and ends no later than 12 Noon Friday April 28.

- Have a copier available that can copy legal size paper.
- Post at the County Courthouse a list of all candidates who have qualified NO LATER THAN 2:00 p.m. after qualifying ceases on FRIDAY, APRIL 28, 2006.
- Certify to the County Election Superintendent the names of all those candidates who have qualified for the primary election, along with the appropriate amount of qualifying fees paid by such candidates, and a copy of the declaration of candidacy and affidavit of each such candidate, AT OR BEFORE 12 NOON ON MONDAY, MAY 1, 2006.
- If you would like to add a question to the primary ballot, even if your County Party isn't doing the qualifying, you must submit it in writing to the Qualifying Agent no later than 12 Noon on Friday April 28. It should be in the form of a “yes or no” question.

When candidates arrive in the House Chamber, qualifying will occur as follows:

A qualifying affidavit containing that information will be printed, and you will review the affidavit for accuracy. If accurate, you will sign the affidavit and a notary will notarize it.
· Please note that the qualifying form requires that you list your precinct. To double check your current precinct, please check with your county registrar or go to the Secretary of State’s “poll locator” on her website. (http://www.sos.state.ga.us/cgi-bin/locator.asp)
· In addition to your precinct, you must include your full name, your name as you wish it to appear on the ballot, your residence address, your profession, business or occupation, the number of years you have resided in Georgia, the number of years you have lived in your county, and the number of years you have lived in your district or circuit (if you are running for an office elected by district or circuit).
