A candidate forum is planned for October 13th, 7:00PM in the Oconee County library auditorium. Candidates for contested seats on the Board of Education, the Board of Commissioners and State Senate have been invited. We have commitments from Tom Breedlove and Rich Clark, Board of Education candidates; Sherry Jackson, State Senate candidate and Tom Leach, Chair Board of Commissioners write in candidate. Bill Cowsert, incumbent candidate for State Senate has a conflict but will send a representative or will appear for part of the forum. Incumbent Chair of the Board of Commissioners, Melvin Davis has not responded to our invitation to participate.
An e mail from Lee Becker follows with a link to his blog which has more complete information on the sponsors and the format of the forum. His e mail only mentions the BOE candidates. The others made commitments after Lee wrote the e mail.
Hope to see you there.
