Thanks from Sherry Friends,

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone that helped make my recent fundraiser a tremendous success! First, thanks to everyone that attended and contributed to my campaign. Without you, this campaign would not be possible, but it's because I have your support I know that we can bring the people of our district the representation they deserve.

Next, I would like to thank the Clarke County Democratic Committee for allowing us to use their headquarters to hold this event. The work that you do is often tireless and thankless, but I want to let everyone know that I sincerely appreciate all of your hard work and dedication to the cause of electing Democrats to office—together, we can do this!

Also, I wanted to express my gracious appreciation to Weaver D's for providing such delicious food for the event—together we will truly be "Automatic FOR THE PEOPLE". But, last and certainly not least, I wanted to thank Roark Bailey for providing us with wonderful music—I am certain that you have great things awaiting you.

Again, thanks to everybody for making this event so special and successful and I want to let everybody know that this is only the beginning. We're less than 60 days away from the most historical Election Day of our lifetime and with your help we can bring much needed change to our country and our district.

DPG Candidate of the Week

We are happy to announce that Sherry Jackson is this week's Democratic Party of Georgia's Candidate of the Week, which means that during this week's "Calling for Change" party (scheduled for Thursday, September 11 from 6 PM to 9 PM) volunteers for the DPG will be making phone calls to help spread the word about our campaign to the good people of our district. Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. I work for a lawyer who could help him out if he does not having someone already representing him. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
