Political Yard Sign Vandalism continues unabated in both Oconee and Walton counties for Democratic candidates including Sherry Jackson, Barack Obama

More examples of neighborhood hoodlums or perhaps something more sinister (such as an organized effort by the GOP?)Heard that some Sherry Jackson's signs in both Oconee and Walton counties have gone missing as well.

Subject: [oconee] Political Yard Sign Vandalism


This occurred in the Keeneland Sub-division.  It was an Obama sign.  I serve as the Homeowner Association Secretary and it was my sign that was removed.  I sent the following e-mail (about 50 homes in the sub-division). 
 
Is anyone else having this problem?  Was there a rash of this in the past day or two in other areas or is it possible it was limited to my neighborhood?

Just an FYI.

I'm sure it was someone from outside the sub-division but a political yard sign was removed from at least one property.  Since there was a spare it was replaced immediately but it is sad that someone resorted to vandalism.  Please be on the alert and write down the license plate number if you see something.

James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

The booking photo is not to be placed on any web page that charges a fee for booking photo removal. Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
