For those who may not know, Courtney lives in South Oconee.  She's a beloved neighbor, a great friend, and a HUGE advocate of South Oconee.  Oh yeah, and now she's a dancing star!

Here's our chance to help her while helping others.  Vote for Team 11Alive!

Courtney needs your support as she gears up to perform in the Dancing with Athens Stars.  Courtney may not be known for her dancing skills, but she is known for her competiveness. The couple with the most votes (donations) wins the audience favorite award.  She went from 2nd to 3rd to 4th place out of 12.  So, don't delay and vote for her today.  You can vote by going to www.project-safe.org, click on Dancing with Athens Stars, scroll down to group 11 -Courtney Gale and Ron Putnam and click donate.  It is $1 per vote and all donations support Project Safe and are tax deductible.

Project Safe is a nonprofit organization working to end
violence against women. Project Safe Inc. offers services in
order to reduce incidents of domestic violence and
increase victims’ access to safety and justice.

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

The booking photo is not to be placed on any web page that charges a fee for booking photo removal. Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
