We've had a good response to the Watkinsville "Political Clean-up" of the main arteries transiting the City.
Matt Adair and his group have been the last to join and will cover Experiment Station Road and hopefully Greensboro Highway. Peggy Holcomb reinforced by Councilman Mike Link will cover North Main Street. Jonathan Veit and the Obamas will cover Simonton Bridge Road and hopefully Barnet Shoals Road. He is reinforced by Samantha Purcell and John Walsh. Jay Hanley reinforced by Councilman Joe Walter will come down Harden Hill Road and possibly add South Main via New High Shoals.
Coordinating Instructions
When the orange liter bags begin to fill-up, please tie them off and leave them in a safe spot by the side of the road. The City will pick them up.
Please head for Jittery Joe's with all due speed. Hot or cold coffee, latte, mocha or regular awaits.
This is a cool part of the day with good light but be careful – these are state routes.
If you are able to "stage" vehicles across from Jittery Joe's and travel in one or two vehicles to your starting point (near the City limits in all cases) transport is easy. I'll be there to ferry anyone who need an assist.
If you have extra volunteers, need more bags, gloves etc, etc please call me
1-706-819-0640
Thank you all and the many people who are nameless at present.
Jim Luken
