SMITH TO RUN FOR WATKINSVILLE CITY COUNCIL SEAT
WATKINSVILLE, Ga, SEPTEMBER 18Toby Smith announced today that he will run for the Watkinsville City Council Post 3 seat, being vacated by Joe Walter.

“Watkinsville has a distinct character and culture of its own, which makes me proud to be a resident” said Smith.  “I’ve been very encouraged and appreciative of the progress and hard work of Mayor Luken and the City Council.  Continuing that work while maintaining the unique quality and traditions of Watkinsville are top priorities.”

Smith, 33, was raised in Watkinsville after his family relocated to Oconee County from Atlanta in 1977. Toby attended Oconee County schools and graduated from the University of Georgia earning a B.B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting.

He and his wife, Hollie, lived in the Atlanta area for eight years where Toby was employed with a regional CPA firm, before returning to Watkinsville in 2005. Toby is currently a partner with Trinity Accounting Group, PC (Athens, GA), which is the largest CPA firm in Northeast Georgia.  He leads the firm’s Financial Reporting and Assurance Services practice area.  He specializes in Audits, Financial Reviews, Business Acquisitions and Business Valuation. Toby is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and Certified Valuation Analyst.  He is an alumnus of LEAD Athens and Leadership Forsyth.

Toby and Hollie Smith, along with their children Hannah and Jackson, live in Christian Lake Subdivision. Toby serves as the Homeowners’ Association Vice President. They attend Prince Avenue Baptist Church.
