Oconee County Civitan Club Fund Raiser - BBQ

This from Mary Mellein and the fine folks of the Oconee County Civitan Club:

Subject: Oconee County Civitan Club Fund Raiser - BBQ

Hi everyone,

As you may or may not know, I am a member of the local Oconee County Civitan Club.  Our purpose is to assist people in need in the local community with a strong focus on those who are disabled in some way.  A current project, for example, is the building of an access ramp for an individual who lives in Watkinsville and will soon be wheel chair bound due to a progressive illness.

We are a relatively new organization experimenting with different types of fund raising activities to help pay for these projects.  For the holidays we are conducting the "Inaugural Oconee Civitan Junk in your Trunk BBQ & Yard Sale".  This event is a two prong approach.

First, we are pre-selling BBQ Boston Butt, cooked by one of our own, an award winning BBQ master Wicked Q.  The price is $25.00 per butt.  We will cook the butts over night and have them available for pick up on Saturday, December 19, 2009, at the warehouse located on the corner of Barnett Shoals & Depot Street, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  I have a few tickets available, and tickets are also available at some Oconee State Bank branches and The Oconee Leader's office.  Our capacity has a limit, so buy a ticket soon to be sure you can enjoy this terrific BBQ during the Christmas holidays.  You know you cannot eat turkey every day.

Second, during the bbq pick up time on the morning of December 19, we will also be conducting a yard sale at the same location.  Civitan members are donating their unwanted "junk", and all sale proceeds will go to Oconee County Civitan.  This will be a great opportunity for last minute shopping bargains.

Be sure to forward this to anyone you know who enjoys BBQ.

Oconee Civitan is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization.  Donations are tax deductible.

We appreciate your community support.

Sincerely,
Mary Mellein
