Questions for the day - please feel free to answer

  1. Does anyone else see a potential conflict of interest with the Williams brothers profiting a cool $300K off the Watkinsville land purchase for a new Board of Education building that has no drawings or funds slated for construction?
  2. Does this eliminate the possibility of the Oconee County government purchasing a tract adjacent to the jail for any future judicial building?
  3. Why do these backdoor deals seem so sleazy?
  4. How many of the current Oconee County Board of Education will be in office after the next election cycle? I put the over/under at one right now.
  5. Will any member of the Oconee County Board of Education win in any other office? Rumors have circulated about Mack Guest wanting to run against current Oconee County Board of Commissioners member John Daniell (ostensibly because Daniel sees the light about working with Clarke County on a joint economic development plan). I say run and Guest will be humiliated by the massive backlash for all the considerably poor decisions by the Board of Education, not limited to covering up the softball coach carrying on an extramarital affair with one of his recent ex players, the poor timing of their raise, the termination and aftermath of the North Oconee HS principal John Osborne, facility inequality, the second gymnasium at OCHS, etc.
  6. Is this enough to engineer a recall election?
  7. What would be if this is not enough malfeasance?
  8. How many Oconee County residents have stayed out of the local restaurants belonging to Oconee County Board of Education chair David Weeks in Town Center?
  9. When will a leader emerge to run against the status quo on the Board of Education?
  10. Have you had enough of sweetheart deals at the expense of the taxpayers and one time educational excellence of Oconee County?
