Subject: TONHS msg from Jason Wisniewski running for Town Council

Hello, I'm Jason Wisniewski.
I am 32 years old and was born and raised in the small Western Pennsylvania town of Mundy's Corner.  I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in December 2000 with a BS in Biology.  In 1999 I began working as a seasonal biologist aide for the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, until September 2001 when my term expired.  In November 2001, I moved to Cookeville, Tennessee to attend graduate school at Tennessee TechnologicalUniversity where I earned my MS in Biology.  After completing my degree in May 2004, I accepted the position of State Mussel Biologist with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources in Social Circle

I resided in Watkinsville from June 2004 until April 2008 when I moved to my current residence on Shadyfield Lane.  During my employment with the DNR, I have been actively involved in the water issues surrounding the tri-state area and have seen nearly all corners of our beautiful state.
I have been an avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman for 20 years.  I also enjoy gardening, yard work, renovating my house, and spending time outdoors.  One of my favorite things to do is relax on my back porch listening to the sound of the Apalachee River running over the shoals upstream from my house.  I have recently become active in the Athens Church of Christ and began helping coach youth wrestling for the Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department.

After living in North High Shoals over the past year and a half, I have grown very fond of our small community and feel I should be doing more to help its citizens and council members.  Therefore, after attending several council meetings and acting on the suggestion of several citizens, I have decided to run for the seat of Post 1 Council member.  Although I have no experience in helping to manage the day to day operations of a small town, I feel that my background of working with state government and managing our state's controversial water/biological issues have provided me with experience that can benefit our town. I am hard working and a quick learner: I feel confident that, if elected, I can be brought up to speed and be of service to our great community.

I look forward to meeting and getting to know more of the citizens of our town over the next few weeks and hope you will vote in the special election on March 16th at the Town Hall.  Thank you for your time.

Jason
