Full Moon Studios open house

The Watkinsville recording studio recently changed ownership and Charlie Garrett hosted the band Kenosha Kid for an open house party Sunday on School Street.

Kite to the Moon bass player Jay Rodgers also teaches clients how to play the bass at the accompanying Oconee School of Rock located in Full Moon Studio, sometimes teaching kids as young as 8 years old how to play songs such as "Yellow Ledbetter" by Pearl Jam and "The Waiting" by Tom Petty and Heartbreakers. Young Seth Addison Marbut has been learning these tunes from Charlie and Jay.

According to their website:
"Full Moon Studio is known for its large live tracking room and comfortable feel. This has become even more the case with the purchase of the business last August by local Athens musician Charlie Garrett.

Over the past several months Charlie and head engineer, Jay Rodgers have been working diligently to restore Full Moon to its full potential. Although the upgrading and new looks are still in progress, the guys would like to go ahead and unveil some of the hard work put into this great studio.

Come and mingle with Charlie, Jay, other Athens musicians like yourselves and engineers and check out the space!

The open house will feature music by Kenosha Kid who is known in town for their amazing blend of jazz and rock with a classical feel."

Kenosha Kid just got done performing at the Robert Osborne Film Festival at the Classic Center the day before, performing the soundtrack to a silent film.

Full Moon Studio is located at 10 School Street just off Main in downtown Watkinsville. Their phone number is 706-769-4100 and you can also reach Charlie at 706-296-4950.
