The Ultimate Taste Showdown A Fundraiser for OCAF's Sculpture Garden Saturday, May 22, 6-8 PM  Only 2 Days Left to Purchase Discount Tickets! On May 22, when Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF) closes its Let's Go Postal exhibit, it will be done with fanfare and a feast. It's called The Ultimate Taste Showdown because it will pit 11 accomplished home chefs against one another, each aided by a celebrity assistant whose primary duty will be to sell votes for what the chefs have prepared. A few of the participating chefs will be Mario Castro, proprietor of Ashford Manor, attorney Bob Elkins, veterinarian Nancy Green, and artist & author Molly Lesnikowski. The menu will include such treats as Vietnamese meatballs, mini salmon burgers, shrimp and cheese grits, salmon with apple horseradish cream on a potato pancake, as well as a number of specialty dessert dishes.  Also included in the cost of admission is wine and lemonade. Attendees will be invited to feast at all food stations, and will be allowed one vote for the savory and one vote for dessert, but with the option of buying additional votes for $1.00 each. Local professional chefs will also vote for their favorites. Besides the food, attendees will receive, by drawing, one of the cards submitted to the Let's Go Postal exhibit, excluding those to be offered in a silent auction, or those purchased during the run of the show. Money raised during the Let's Go Postal and The Ultimate Taste Showdown events will be used for maintenance and expansion of the garden, including additional brickwork, featured sculptures and landscaping.
