Sons of Sailors celebrate Memorial Day at Ashford Manor Bed and Breakfast

Even though this is a Jackson Browne song, it shows the versatility of the Tony Pritchett band, who will be performing tomorrow evening at Ashford Manor Bed and Breakfast as the Jimmy Buffett cover band called Sons of Sailors. Y'all come if you can and enjoy the sets but I think you need to find your own lost shaker of salt.

:  Due to a clerical error, ads for this Monday's Concert did not make it into this weeks Flagpole, Oconee Enterprise, Oconee Leader.  It did make it into the ABH.
But as families look for stuff to do on the holiday they often turn to these other pubs.

Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
