Subject: [oconee] Suzy Compere, Democratic Candidate for HD 113, Special Guest At 5/20 Meeting
I just heard from Suzy Compere, Democratic candidate for HD 113, and she will be speaking at our meeting, Thursday, May 20th, 7:30, at the Oconee County Government Annex, 1291 Greensboro Highway. Sorry for the late notice, but this has just been confirmed.
Please everyone come so that we can learn about her and come up with ways to help her. Bring family and friends. Bring strangers off the street. Don't let any scheduling conflicts keep you from attending.
Oconee County, since it is the largest voting block in the district, is THE battleground for this race. We can help Suzy by turning out democrats, independents, and open-minded Republicans who are tired of the mess the Republican Legislature has gotten us into.
I realize that many of you think this is an uphill battle, and that it's Hank Huckaby's race to lose. The argument against him is simple: As a government employee for 20 years, including 4 years as the state's top budgeting and finance officer and 8 years as senior vice president for finance and administration at the University of Georgia, he is not the solution to Georgia's financial crisis. To the contrary, he played a key role in steering the state into the ditch it's in now.
Come ready to meet Suzy and ask her questions. The agenda will be light so that we can hear her out.
Thanks!
