The list doubled since I had to file an open records request to get the list the other day.
My rankings of the likelihood of being appointed based on little more than practical educational experience.
1. Franklin Shumake - nobody comes close to the amount of time he has spend working on the education of Oconee County children.
Here is Legislative proclamation proof from a couple years back as if you needed this:

5. Kirk Dunham - Bishop resident - has donated to the Athens Symphony and raised money for the Boys and Girls club. Had this to say about the proposed sale of their property in Athens in 2007:
A speech by Bishop resident Kirk Dunham, a Boys & Girls Club fundraiser, was a good example of the heated rhetoric: "You got this vision that we're going to have little French cafes on every corner, and everybody's going to live happily ever after," Dunham said. "Doesn't work that way."
