Tuesday, October 19 at 6 PM
in the OCAF Members' Gallery for a Gallery Talk with Philip Juras

Philip Juras will discuss how the subjects of his paintings in this exhibition are significant both in terms of William Bartram's Travels and his own interest in ecology, history, and of course painting. He will talk about the experience of traveling and painting these works in the field (from the coast of South Carolina to the North Carolina mountains, to the Mississippi River), and a bit about how field painting fits in with and informs his work in general. The technical aspects of  how Philip paints will also be covered. Open to the public. Free admission.
