Oconee County HS among missing helmets at Georgia Dome - post season commences without Warriors

Although a dozen seasons have passed since the Oconee County Warriors undefeated State Championship football team, the Georgia Dome is seeking a helmet from all of the teams who have played in the artificial turf indoor stadium in Atlanta. Oconee County and Coach Mitch Davis were included on a list seeking a donation of a helmet for a display case inside of the facility that the Atlanta Falcons call home.

I would imagine there is a pretty good chance that the North Oconee Titans will be donating a helmet after this post-season. But remember the Titans will have a stern test with an Atlanta road trip to the real Westminster in  an opener for the once beaten Bogart area school still reeling from a tragic and fatal auto accident this past weekend.

Athens Academy is playing host to a playoff game this weekend against a 6-4 Mount Paran team in the narrow slice of Athens mailing address inside of Oconee County off of Hwy. 441 near the 10 Loop. Prince Avenue Christian School travels to the beautiful Northwest Georgia campus of Darlington near Rome for their first post-season football game ever.

Falcons still looking for helmets for Georgia Dome
The Georgia Dome and the Georgia World Congress Center Authority have created a permanent fixture showcasing football helmets from many of the state's high school programs. But some helmets are still missing. If you know your helmet is not currently a part of this display and would like for it to be, contact Kendyl Moss, director of community relations for the Atlanta Falcons, by calling 404-367-2064 or via e-mail at kmoss@falcons.nfl.com.
