Subject: DETAILS: State Committee Meeting Announced

State Committee Meeting – March 26, 2011
Augusta Georgia

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The first State Committee Meeting of the Democratic Party of Georgia under new Chair Mike Berlon will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Augusta, Georgia on Saturday, March 26, from 1:00 PM to 4:00PM. The Marriott Hotel is located at 2 10th St. in Augusta. The Meeting will be held in the Estes Exhibit Hall. Registration will start at 11:30.

The purpose of the meeting will be to inform all State Committee Members of the state of the party. There will also be a discussion of potential changes in the by-laws and other issues affecting the party. Immediately after the meeting, we will open the first satellite office for the Democratic Party of Georgia in conjunction with the Richmond County Democrats. Everyone is encouraged to attend the opening of the first of many new offices which are planned around the state.

The Party plans to hold four [4] State Committee Meetings per year in various locations around the state. The next Meeting will be held before the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner sometime in late April or early May. The dinner will be on Saturday in Atlanta to accommodate those traveling from around the state. We hope to hold one meeting before the Annual Georgia Association of Democratic Chairs [GADCC] Dinner, which is usually held in late August or early September. The final meeting will be held outside of the metro area in late fall. A schedule of exact dates will be sent out as soon as possible.

The intention is to move the meetings around the state as much as possible.

The Georgia Association of Democratic Chairs will meet at the Marriott Hotel from 10:00 AM until Noon on Saturday, March 26, in the Cumming Meeting Room. A block of rooms is being held for those who wish to come the evening before. For more information, please contact Dr. Lowell Greenbaum, Acting President of the GADCC.
