Rose Creek Stewardship and join the Great Oconee Clean Up

Pick up trash in your neighborhood or consider volunteering for the Tour D'Oconee bike ride early Saturday morning, May 7
Subject: Rose Creek Stewardship

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Happy Earth Day!

Last March we all banded together to clean up roadsides and creek banks along Elder Mill Road, Big Rose Creek, and Little Rose creek.  We collected 85 pounds of trash and a whopping 220 pounds of recyclable materials!

I was so thrilled and honored that you all wanted to be a part of that project, which is attached to my upcoming art exhibit.

I am contacting you again on behalf of Keep Oconee Clean And Beautiful Commission's "Great Oconee Clean Up Project".

KOCBC has joined with county officials to name April 30 and May 14 as special clean up days.  You can meet up with groups at Harris Shoals Park to go to designated areas, or, you can clean up in your own neighborhood.  Please see the attached flyer for more details.

After our successful clean up last March, I founded "Rose Creek Stewardship" and officially adopted a mile, which is actually the 4.5 mile stretch of Elder Mill Road from Antioch Church Road to Highway 15.

I invite you all to be a part of the "Great Oconee Clean Up" by participating in a litter pick up within our Rose Creek Stewardship Adopt-A-Mile area.  This time we will work on a more relaxed schedule in order to accommodate your busy schedules.  While April 30 and May 14 are the official clean up days, we are encouraged to clean up any time in April or May.  I would like to have our area completed by May 14.

If you are interested in being involved in this project, please email me as to when and where you'd like to pick up.  I will be collecting all of your bags to turn in on May 14 to KOCBC so they may document our results.  I will help you coordinate working with other volunteers for your time frame if possible, and arrange to pick up your bags from the roadside to hold at our place so that I can sort, weigh, and then turn it all in.

Thanks for your participation in advance, and thanks for all you do to Keep Oconee Clean and Beautiful!
