Subject: About your Virtual Town Hall meeting

Dear Congressman Paul Broun Jr.,
A Virtual Town Hall sounds nice and slick and so 21st Century, but being physically in the district, face to face, with constituents is, I am sure, what the Founding Fathers intended as the main link for U.S. Representatives and the electorate.
With your upcoming Virtual Town Hall you will not make yourself more available to more constituents. You will place yourself further behind an impermeable glass wall in which not only you and your staff will choose what is answered publically, but you and they will have had plenty of time to form the answer.
Thinking on your feet is not your forte, and at your few District 10 Town Halls this year you were obviously most comfortable when speaking, without interruption, from your planned text. However, your constituents want their congressman to be a human being who can wisely use all his senses and comfortably discuss issues with those who disagree.  
Come to our hometowns, our colleges, our high schools, sir, where we live, learn, and work, which was the intent of the monthly week-long recesses scheduled by the Republican-lead Congress this year. Facebook and Twitter, which you will use to take questions for your Virtual Town Hall, are not where most of us live - or think.

Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

The booking photo is not to be placed on any web page that charges a fee for booking photo removal. Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
