Campaign message and donation request

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your interest in my candidacy for the special election being held in House District 113 in Georgia.  We will be voting on June 21st, and whether or not you live in the district, there are may ways you can help me stand up for the priorities of our rapidly growing region.

I promise to use this campaign to get to know voters on both sides of the aisle in the 113th.

We all have many issues in common, and I intend to focus on those:  education, preserving the beauty
and heritage of our region, (which includes agriculture, especially small farmers) and jobs.

Government should be fair, but often isn't.  I can't promise to create fairness in an unfair world, but promise that I'll never sit by and watch legislation that doesn't make sense for the people of our district go unchallenged.

With almost everyone I know feeling the pinch of the current economic climate, it is difficult for me to ask for as significant a contribution as you can spare, but I must.  We have less than thirty days, and must have the resources to get to know as many voters as possible in the district.  We need materials to hand out and mail to voters, and MUST purchase advertising in local papers and on local radio stations.

The most important contribution you can make to my campaign, if you are one of the folks I know who has a wealth of talent and initiative, is as a VOLUNTEER.  Please write letters to your local papers, call in when you read on this notification list that I'll be on the air, and help us with our critical get out the vote effort.  We intend to contact every positive contact we've had, and pull our allies out to vote on this very important day.  It's just around the corner, friends!

Help us get off to a great start by either using paypal - there's a secure link here at  http://oconeedemocrat.blogspot.com. You may also send a contribution in check made out to Vote for Dan and mail it to 1081  Katie Lane, Watkinsville, GA 30677.

To volunteer, host a house party, canvass or phone with us, drive voters to the polls on the 21st, or invite Dan to an event near you, or make sure he sees a letter you've written to the editor on his behalf, please reply to this email, or call 706-769-1131 or my cell at 706-372-1062.

I look forward to hearing from you, and to working with you during the critical few weeks that remain in the campaign.

Sincerely,

Dan Matthews
