A Message from Congressman Paul Broun
You're Invited to a Grants Fair - Tuesday, August 23
(Residents gather helpful information at Broun's 2010 Grants Fair)

If you are interested in learning about the grants process, you won't want to miss my upcoming Grants Fair.  I invite you to come  to The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 23rd.  This free event will provide those of you who are seeking grant funding the opportunity to talk with representatives from state and federal agencies and learn about their grants programs and the application process.
Grants.gov will provide a webinar presentation.  In addition, the following agencies will be in attendance to give presentations and answer related questions:
  • Appalachian Regional Commission
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • Federal Emergency Management Agency
  • Georgia Department of Community Affairs
  • Georgia Department of Community Affairs Housing Finance Division
  • Georgia Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security
  • Georgia Mountains Regional Commission
  • Georgia Student Finance Commission
  • Office of Small Business Development Centers
  • U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development
  • U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
  • U.S. Small Business Administration
This annual event is a great way to network with state and federal representatives while you learn how to secure available funding for your local communities, nonprofits, and businesses.  The fair will be held in the Hill Atrium and Mahler Auditorium of The Georgia Center, located at 1197 South Lumpkin Street in Athens.  Paid parking is available in the South Campus Parking Deck.  For more information, you may contact my Grants Coordinator Caitlin Burns at 706-447-3857.
