Piccolo's on Oct. 24th - fundraiser for Oconee Dems and thanks to Patsy

Hello everyone,
It is official.  Patsy Harris, our 10th Congressional District chair, can join us as our honoree at 6:30 pm on Monday evening, October 24th, at Piccolo's in the Bell Shopping Center at Butler's Crossroads.  This event serves as a way to recognize Patsy for the enormous amount of time, energy, and money that she gave to the Dan Matthews' campaign.  All of us involved admired her optimism, dedication, and perseverance to the goals of the Democratic party, including fairness and social justice.
Please save the date by marking your calendars now for this event.  You are encouraged to bring family members and friends.  We can choose from either the lunch or dinner menu that night, so, whether you are dieting or still eating hearty, there will be ample choice.  If you plan to arrive before or after 6:30 that evening, please mention that you are with the Oconee Democratic Committee.
 Piccolo's will donate 20% above the usual take for a Monday night to our Committee.  So, as always with our group, the more, the merrier.  I will be contacting each of you again, around October 15th, to get a count of likely participants to pass on to Piccolo's.

Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. I work for a lawyer who could help him out if he does not having someone already representing him. This man is a great broadcaster and I hope this arrest serves as a wake-up call for him and his rock and roll lifestyle. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

The booking photo is not to be placed on any web page that charges a fee for booking photo removal. Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
