0ver the next couple weeks y'all have 2 great opportunities to do 2 great things in two great counties. Coming To A Theater Near You, FOR CHILDREN OF ALL AGES:
First, the amazing fun and entertaining, locally 'grown', Athens/Oconee born and bread documentary film "The World's Smallest Airport" will be shown. Second is the great opportunity: All proceeds of the film benefit the beyond amazing PROJECT SAFE. See attached.
First, the film: written, produced, directed by Oconee's own Grady Thrasher (yes, the same wildly successful writer of the Tim and Sally children's book series) and Matt DeGennaro. Without giving away too much, the Smallest Airport was in Elberton, Athens and everywhere in between. You see, the airport was the top of Grady's family car. His father, a pilot returning after WWII, created a flying circus with only one of the high jinx shown in the film, a take-off and landing of his plane atop the family car...only a small part of the story of a family raised in our part of the world in the 1940s and continuing, through this film, to the present. Grady and Matt will be present at film to add color commentary, answer questions, and Grady will sign copies of his popular book series. Have your kids bring their own, purchase them their on site, or win the complete set of books at the on site raffle-- all proceeds from the film, book sales and raffle go to Project Safe--all made possible through the amazingly generous Grady, Kathy Prescott and Matt.
