Oconee BOE bans Oconee County Democratic Party website, but Republicans are allowed in with their site

Whether this is an oversight or an actual attempt at stifling the flow of information remains to be seen, but because of the criticism of some schools and policies, this blog as well as the official Oconee County Democratic Committee website are currently blocked from view at the computers of the Oconee County School system. The Oconee County Republican party's website has been approved for viewing at school's terminals and laptops. Dr. Hale told me today that the political websites need to be part of the curriculum or requested by a teacher at the school.

And some gutter snipe removed the cardboard from a Scott Berry sign in my yard, but they let me keep the metal stantion. Don't suppose it was any of the kids down the street whose parents have multiple signs for his opponent, would you?

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. This man is a great broadcaster and I hope this arrest serves as a wake-up call for him and his rock and roll lifestyle. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
