Oconee County Democratic Committee meets Thursday, May 17 at Government Annex
The Oconee County Democratic Committee will be holding its regular monthly meeting 7:00 pm this evening, Thursday, May 17, 2012, at the Oconee County Government Annex at 1291 Greensboro Highway, Watkinsville, GA 30677. We meet in the back auditorium where the Department of Agriculture usually holds gatherings (not in the room where you go to vote, but kind of on that end of the building). Look for the room with framed portraits of President Barack Obama and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.
My name is Dan Matthews, and I am chair of the committee. My cell phone is 706-372-1062 if you get lost. We have had a full house the last several meetings with a 33% increase in membership. We have a new twitter account @oconeedems and a great new website. We would love for you to run for office, become a dues paying member of the party and our committee, and generally stay involved with local politics and issues.
We may be hearing from someone who is a delegate in this fall's Democratic National Convention from the county. We are going to be registering voters at the Farmers Market Saturday morning.
We would really like to see you at our meetings. You do not have to be Democratic or live in Oconee County to attend. We welcome volunteers or look for our registration tent Saturday at the Farmers Market.
