Select Football League Tryout Date Change

Changing the dates and registration times at the last second (relatively speaking) is not the best way to start a Select Football team, but I understand the necessity with the conflict with the Little League tournament. We were first in line to get equipment Friday evening at Herman C. Michael Park.  I hope Trevor and the gang have state championship level teams, and I do wish the OCYFL team would merge for this team if nothing else.

Subject: Select Football League Tryout Date Change!

Due to the recent schedule changes to the Little League end of season games and post season tournaments, there is a direct conflict for all Little League players to attend the Select Football tryouts.  Given the importance of a thorough evaluation, we have moved the tryouts to Tuesday May 29th and Thursday May  31st at 6:30 at Oconee Veterans Park.  Equipment Pick Up times have not changed and are listed below.  We appreciate your interest in Select Football and thank you for understanding with this change.
  • 7/8 equipment handout is Saturday May 19th at Herman C Michael A-L at 9:00am M-Z at 9:45
  • 9/10 equipment handout is Saturday May 19th at Herman C. Michael A-L at 10:30am M-Z at 11:30am
  • 11/12 equipment handout is Friday May 18th at Herman C Michael  A-L at 6:30pm  M-Z at 7:30pm

The Watkinsville City Cemetery is an oasis amidst the houses on the east side of the municipality, near the neighborhood once called Sidney. There is a large section of the cemetery that remains a mystery, but perhaps we can work together to dignify the eternal resting spot somewhat better than the current neglected and forgotten (not to mention unmarked) graves of 70 people, more than likely of African-American descent. Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. I work for a lawyer who could help him out if he does not having someone already representing him. This man is a great broadcaster and I hope this arrest serves as a wake-up call for him and his rock and roll lifestyle. I live a far from perfect life myself but long ago and far away I learned how and when not to drink.
