The rebels get their due

This Confederate Monument, in front of the Oconee County Courthouse, Watkinsville, Georgia, was erected by the Roberta Harris Wells Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy of Watkinsville.

The inscription reads:

COMMEMORATING THE SELF-SACRIFICE
OF THE CONFEDERATE SOLDIER
WHOSE VALOR IS ENGRAVED UPON
THE HEART OF THE SOUTH,
ENDURING AS TIME, EXCITING
AND COMPELLING THE ADMIRATION
OF ALL NATIONS AND ALL PEOPLES
