Better Georgia

Tough question.

Deal walks away
Last week CBS reporter Christopher King asked Nathan Deal an important questionfor Georgia taxpayers.
"Gov. Deal, did you give Chip Rogers a $150,000 per year job to get him out of the way at the capitol?"
It should have been an easy question. It should have been a question Gov. Deal was eager and ready to answer.
It wasn't.
Instead, Gov. Deal laughed uncomfortably and walked away as an assistant stepped in to say, "We've got to go."
Gov. Deal managed to get out a 'no.'
It's time for Gov. Deal to explain to taxpayers why Chip Rogers told a radio station in December that the new job at GPB is a political appointment. Why did Chip Rogers say Gov. Deal approached him with the idea?
And most important, why did Gov. Deal suddenly increase GPB's budget after years of cuts and after more than four dozen GPB employees were laid off?
Couldn't one of those 54 fired employees have done the job better than Chip Rogers?
It's not a laughing matter. These questions deserve a serious, full explanation.
Tell GPB to fire Chip Rogers.
Sincerely,
Bryan Long
