Thanks to each of you for your food and drink donations for our 6 County Democratic mtg at Ashford on Main on June 20th!  Without you and your enthusiasm we wouldn't have had any success, or fun.  Your donations were delish--course you know that--you saw how every person practically dived into the buffet, several times.
Don't forget to personally thank the managers/owners of Zaxby's, Kumquat Mae, Krimson's, Barberitos, and Inoko's for their yummy sandwiches, chicken, sushi rolls, etc.  We so appreciate our local businesses, for their support.  Even better, please patronize these restaurants when  you're out. 
NOW, I know who to call for great parties...........the DEMOCRATIC  PARTY.  Who else?
Seriously we offered candidates, Democrats from Greene, Walton, Morgan, Clark, Barrow, community honorees, their spouses or partners, two speakers from the Atlanta area, and one Enterprise reporter, a wonderfully warm reception, thanks to your generosity.

Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. I work for a lawyer who could help him out if he does not having someone already representing him. This man is a great broadcaster and I hope this arrest serves as a wake-up call for him and his rock and roll lifestyle. I live a far from perfect life myself but long ago and far away I learned how and when not to drink. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
